Sales Executive Germany

We’re looking for German-speaking colleagues! If German is your mother tongue, you have commercial experience in the food industry and you have an extensive network in the retail sector or the food industry, then we’re looking for you!

Full-time · Jan Zandbergen Group

ABOUT THE ROLE

Business-minded, disciplined, proactive, a true team player and innovator. That’s what we’re looking for in a Sales Executive for Germany! Our sales department is responsible for supporting our (international) clients and expanding our client base. You’ll be part of an international, motivated team where people work hard and independently – and, of course, there’s plenty of room for fun too. As a Sales Executive for Germany, you’ll enjoy approaching new clients (in the retail, hospitality or industrial sectors) in Germany and Austria. Your work doesn’t stop at making initial contact, of course; you’ll ensure that clients get to know us (better), and you won’t stop once the ‘deal’ is done. You support these clients with genuine care and interest. You advise them and work with them to find solutions. At the Jan Zandbergen Group, the client is still king.

You remain calm, even under pressure, and use your knowledge and skills where necessary to advise colleagues and customers. You are a true sparring partner. You draw energy from the hectic pace and the ‘juggling act’, enabling you to pick up the phone effortlessly and follow up on emails quickly. This keeps you connected to the organisation and your colleagues and ensures you remain engaged.

These are the qualities we’re looking for in the Sales Executive for Germany that the Jan Zandbergen Group is seeking. Are you ready for a commercial challenge with prospects for growth? If so, please read on.

ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be fully responsible for approaching and managing your own client portfolio in the retail or hospitality sectors in Germany and Austria. You will handle everything from A to Z; from the initial telephone contact through to after-sales service.

  • You are familiar with data-driven sales. You are able to interpret and process data accurately and draw up a sales plan based on this information.

  • You will support accounts receivable management both operationally and strategically when payments from your clients are overdue.

  • You will collaborate with other departments (such as logistics) to ensure the ordering process runs smoothly.

  • You are adept at working towards targets and proactively keep management informed of your progress.

  • You are actively involved in improvement initiatives within the sales team. Thanks to your knowledge and skills, you can act as a driving force and sparring partner for channel management and sales management.

  • Naturally, you are familiar with our terms and conditions and apply them correctly. You also help us to think about how we can improve them.

WHAT DO WE OFFER YOU?

  • A gross basic salary of between 3,500 and 5,000 euros per month (depending on knowledge, skills, age and qualifications);

  • 24 days’ annual leave per year and 8 per cent holiday pay;

  • A free lunch every day, including fruit, salad, soup and fresh rolls;

  • A 2 per cent end-of-year bonus;

  • The opportunity to work out every working day in the gym at our own Food Innovation Centre.

  • Every Friday afternoon, we enjoy a nice drink, and we also organise fun departmental and company outings!

  • Six times a year, the opportunity to purchase (meat) substitutes at a discounted price;

  • A permanent, stable job in which you can develop and grow in terms of duties, responsibility and salary;

  • A financially sound employer committed to the long term;

  • It’s no coincidence that our slogan is ‘Innovation That Matters’. So expect plenty of initiatives that we’ll ‘simply put into action’. The Jan Zandbergen Group never stands still – and neither will your career. We offer internal and external training and development programmes.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • You speak and write German fluently;

  • You have a university-level standard of work and thinking. A degree in a business-related field would be an advantage;

  • You have an affinity for data-driven sales;

  • Selling comes naturally to you. It feels like second nature, and you derive real satisfaction from interacting with your (potential) customers;

  • You have a thriving network in the retail, hospitality and industrial sectors in Germany and/or Austria;

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in a sales department within the food industry;

  • You can hold your own in a demanding environment. You know how to manage expectations effectively and respond and communicate proactively;

  • As you will be working in an international team, you must be fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English;

  • You enjoy working in a team where people work hard, but where there is also room for a bit of (direct) humour;

  • And you are available to work full-time (40 hours per week).
